Hi everyone, hope today is good for you.
Sitting here yesterday afternoon cutting apart another of my daughters unwanted blouses and fuming about the amount of junk mail that comes through the door, nowadays with the postman, I realised that some of the mail that had been handily providing me with bin liners was the charity collection envelopes. I receive 2 or 3 of these a week from different organisations and have yet to see anyone come and collect any bags, I've left one out about 3 times only to take it back when the charity fails to collect on the allotted day. A thought suddenly occurred how many others in my road were hauling their bags in and out to no avail, hastily ran off a note to each neighbour requesting any surplus material for my quilting class and did a quick door to door also adding that this would not be a frequent occurrence a one off request only. Surprisingly I received two donations with two hours of dropping the requests round, I now have bags of material in my dining room ready to check, and anything I cannot use I will take down to cash for clothes and with the money I get for them will buy padding etc for the quilting, truly upcycling here.
I was sorry to see that one of my followers Jo, reported in her blog (all the blue day) of the terrible Tasmanian spring storms they are experiencing result in the loss part of her fence, hope the weather is getting better Jo. Also glad to see that Froogs (Frugal Queen) picked up an award for her blog, congratulations Froogs.
Until tomorrow and thank you for reading, If you have become a regular reader drop me a line to let me know where you are from, I'd like to know how far my blog is radiating from Cardiff. Have a lovely day wherever in the world you are and whatever the weather.
Rainy Day
Slip on your raincoat,
Pull on your galoshes;
Wading in puddles
Makes splishes and sploshes.
